PREPAREZ LE JOUR J
Physical Preparation
To make sure you'll be fully ready to hit the slopes on your first day skiing, physical preparation (thighs, knees, hips and cardio-respiratory) is probably the most important component to prepare. Some simple exercises will help you to improve easily your physical condition before hitting the slopes.
To develop respiratory endurance, practise jogging, walking
or cycling by sessions of 30 minutes minimum. So you can
follow up the tracks without stopping too often ... and
maybe pass the challenge off the blue track Sairon non-
stop!
For your muscles, the important points to strengthen are
the abdominal, the back, the shoulders, and of course the
lower limbs. Stop using the elevator, choose the stairs,
jumping up a step on both. Ten pumps a day before the
shower, and you'll feel more tonic. Practice the "chair"
position leaning against a wall with legs bent 90 degrees
and hold for as long as possible!
After each exercise, and after a day of skiing, stretch
your muscles and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
You'll feel much more relaxed and ready to enjoy the "Fondue" for dinner!
Suitcase preparation
Whatever the period of your stay, bring warm clothes. In mountain, the weather changes very quickly!
Do not forget: Kids'age certificate to benefit of a free skipass for every kids under 5.
Clothing:
For sports, we recommend breathable underwear (long johns or tights and under-pull), warm sweater and fleece jacket windproof and waterproof.
Socks:
For skiing or snowboarding, we recommend wearing adapted socks, rising, and breathable. Thus, your outfit and comfort footwear will be the best.
Gloves :
A good pair of gloves or mittens are essential, especially in rain or snow. For your kids in ski lesson, we recommend waterproof mittens which are easier to put on. The little fingers get cold very quickly!
Helmet:
Helmet is strongly recommended for children as adults as soon as you're on the slopes. Unfortunately, we are never safe from a collision. Available for rent in ski shops.
Sunglasses and/or goggles ?
Goggles or sunglasses are compulsory, the reflection of the sun against snow is particularly bad for our eyes. Protect them! For beginners (children and adults) wear sunglasses so you'll have less fog. Keep the goggles for later when you'll ski super fast !
First aid kit
- Sunscreen: sun block recommended for the face
- Cream for relaxing muscles after skiing
- Cream for bumps, recommended for snowboard beginners
- Dressings in case of any blisters
Ski/snowboard gear:
If you own your equipment, please check that your bindings are properly fitted to your boots and your weight. To rent equipment, many ski shoprs are located in Morillon Village and Morillon 1100. The specialists will give you good advices.
To go to Morillon Village and Morillon 1100 :
